Our projects

CSARN implements fellowships for young women researchers. Fellows are selected via a competitive process by an expert committee. Fellowships include research stipend, training, and mentoring alongside possibility to fund conference/events attendance.

Training is provided to awardees, focused on both research methods as well as gender awareness and communications skills. A mentor is assigned to each fellow. Both activities aim to facilitate these women reaching positions of equal social and political influence.

We support local scholars, graduate students, and researchers in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences for research proposal development, thesis writing, and studying abroad.

We support foreign scholars, students, or researchers who are planning to spend time in Chin State and surrounding areas for research projects or PhD fieldwork.

We provide consultancy and advisory services to organizations, educational establishments, and funding institutes engaged in projects that focus on Chin State and surrounding areas (ie. including Sagaing Division, Northern Rakhine, Mizoram, Nagaland, etc.) Consultancy Services.

We implement programmes to improve access to education for children in Chin State. Our programmes aim to enhance the capacity of schools and teachers and provide direct learning support to children, ensuring that every child has access to quality education regardless of their circumstances.

CSARN is an interdisciplinary platform for sharing high-quality research on Chin State and its borderlands, and that supports and connects local and international researchers and students working in this field.

We actively seek out and create opportunities for scholars working in this field to share and present their work at international conferences, and focus on supporting emerging local scholars to craft their research papers and proposals through volunteer peer review buddy-systems and editorial services.

TheHILLS Scholarship Fund aims to support bright and motivated young people from Chin State to access Higher Education.

The scholarship is open to talented High School graduates, residents of Chin State, who wish to study the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Kalay University. Students who come from a disadvantaged background, particularly those whose own parents did not attend university are encouraged to apply.
