Research Specialist - TRS001 (open: multiple short-term positions)
We are looking to contract experts who are part of our network to work on a variety of human rights and humanitarian themes related to the current situation in Chin State. We are looking for researchers who are either from Chin State, or who are from elsewhere but have carried out significant periods of research in the area. The main objective of the consultancy is to lead on production of an internal knowledge product in the form of a report.
You must be specialised in fields related to human rights, humanitarian, and/or gender contexts in Chin State. You must be fluent in English, and be a self-starter. This is because although you will work as part of a team, we expect you to lead on this research project. You must also enjoy working with local scholars, especially women who will be selected as part of the CSARN Research Fellowships Programme for Women and will form a significant part of the research project. A PhD and a publications record is preferred but not required, we expect you to have at least Postgraduate research methodology training as well as significant thematic expertise and research experience.
Candidate Profile
Postgraduate education in areas relevant to human rights and/or humanitarian current context in Chin State. A publication record (academic, policy, journalism, etc.) or a PhD are not required but can be an advantage
Research experience in Chin State
Thematic expertise on human rights and/or humanitarian issues
Excellent teamwork and appreciation of working in multicultural environments
Consultancy service fees depends on the specific terms of reference agreed for the consultancy and upon experience. They will be discussed with candidates upon expression of interest.
